AE Looting

This exists in Rift and in SWTOR so it was just a matter of time before it hit WoW.  Yay!

MoP Hunter Ability Changes

This is just what I've noticed up to now.  Some things are not yet implemented or I'm not the right level to try them out yet.

Beast Master Ability Changes
Beast Cleave: level 24 BM ability. After you Multi-Shot, your pet’s melee attacks also strike all other nearby enemy targets for the next 5 sec.

Kill Command: level 10. Changed to BM only, and works as long as your pet is within 25 yards of the target.

Bestial Wrath: cooldown lowered to 1 minute, down from 2 minutes.

Beast Mastery: changed so that it still allows the taming of exotic pets but instead of giving extra pet talents it lowers the cooldown of pet specials by 30%

Survival Ability Changes
Black Arrow: deals some direct damage to the target in addition to the DoT, Lock & Load will only proc from the DoT on your target.   Now has a 2-second cast time.

Viper Venom:  You gain 3 Focus each time your Serpent Sting deals damage. This effects has a 3-second cooldown.

Marksman Ability Changes
Steady Focus: new version of Improved Steady Shot.  When you Steady Shot twice in a row your ranged attack speed will be increased by 15% and your Steady Shot will generate 3 additional focus for 10 sec.

General Hunter Ability Changes
Hunter’s Mark: Changed to increase damage by 5% on the marked target: and duration is 30 seconds for PvP and 5 minutes for PvE.

Aspect of the Hawk: Also changed to 10% AP

Trap Launcher: Changed to a toggled ability. If it’s toggled on, every trap you use will be launched.   If it’s toggled off you drop traps at your feet like normal.

Trueshot Aura: now a passive ability available to all hunter specs that gives both 10% melee and ranged Attack Power and 5% critical strike chance.

Camouflage: can be cast while in combat, but if it is you only get a 6-second duration.

Stampede(Name Not Final): level 87 ability for all hunter specs, Stampedewill let hunters bring out their active stable of pets all at once for a short duration, long cooldown.

MoP Hunter Talents

Hard to keep up with all the things I try to catch in beta and work as much as I am right now so I'm sorry this is so slow in coming.

These are the hunter talents as they stand now on the beta server.  They are sure to change between beta pushes so try not to take this as gospel for release.

With just a bit of dust you can fit your hunter to a particular encounter

Level 15

  • Posthaste: Your movement speed is increased by 60% for 4 sec after you use disengage.
  • Narrow Escape (Name Not Final):  When you disengage, you also activate a web trap which encases all targets within 8 yards in sticky webs, preventing movement for 3 seconds.
  • Exhilaration:  When you Disengage, you are instantly healed for 15% of your total health.

Level 30

  • Silencing Shot:  A shot that silences the target and interrupts spellcasting for 3 sec.
  • Wyvern Sting: A stinging shot that puts the target to sleep for 30 sec. Any damage will cancel the effect. When the target wakes up, the Sting causes 3,057 nature damage over 6 sec. Only one Sting per Hunter can be active on the target at a time.
  • Binding Shot: You fire a magical projectile, tethering the enemy and any other enemies within 5 yards of the landing arrow for 10 sec. If the targets move 5 yards from the arrow they are stunned and will be immune to the effects of Binding Shot for 10 sec.

Level 45

  • Crouching Tiger, Hidden Chimera:  Reduces the cooldown of Disengage by 10 sec, and the cooldown of Deterrence by 60 sec.
  • Aspect of the Iron Hawk: The Hunter takes on the aspects of an iron hawk, increasing ranged attack power by 10%, and reducing all damage taken by 15%. Replaces Aspect of the Hawk.
  • Spirit Bond:  While your pet is active, you and your pet will regenerate 3% of total health every 2 sec.

Level 60

  • Fervor: Instantly restores 50 focus to you and your pet. 30 second cooldown.
  • Readiness: When activated, this ability immediately finishes the cooldown on all hunter abilities.
  • Thrill of the Hunt: You have a 15% chance when you fire a ranged attack that costs Focus and/or Kill Command, to cause your next ranged attack that costs Focus or Kill Command to be free.

Level 75

  • Murder of Crows: NYI
  • Menagerie: NYI
  • Toxin: NYI

Level 90

  • Glaive Toss: You hurl two glaives in front of you 30 yards, dealing 1,000 damage to all enemies and reducing their movement speed by 50%.   The glaives will return back to you, also dealing damage and snaring targets they hit. If the Glaive Toss hits at least 2 enemies in both directions, the cooldown is reset.
  • Powershot: You wind up a powerful shot, which deals 100% weapon damage to the target and all enemies in between you and the target. Enemies hit by Powershot are also knocked back.
  • Barrage: 40 focus, channeled. Rapidly fire a spray of shots forward for 3 sec, dealing a total of 288% weapon damage to the target and an average 72% weapon damage to each other nearby target. [note that this is a channeled ability, and when in Aspect of the Fox you can channel it on the move.]

Pandas pandas everywhere

Okay so nothing at a high level is open yet in beta.  They want the panda starting areas tested so I sucked it up and made me a fluffy happy panda monk.   Considering things are buggy and not all yet implemented I'll reserve any commenting on the class itself and just show off some of the pretty graphics and odd moments.

Now with less deadzone

I haven't much felt like blogging through Cataclysm.  I liked the expansion but I just didn't feel much up to dissecting it.  But now I have me a shiny new beta invitation and I'm checking out Mists of Pandaria.

I've only managed to sneak in and take a few screenshots so far thanks to my inability to feign sick well enough to call into work.

First thing I noticed was my back.  I have one!  There's no giant weapon strapped to my back or my side weighing me down with all that lovely agility.  Whatever will I do when I can't make a case to use every weapon that drops?!

Then I did something silly and fun.  I ran to the nearest target dummy and...

Look Ma, no deadzone

What a nice feeling after all these years.  Almost as exciting as "Look Ma, no mana"

Just a few other things for now:

One button for all the traps.  Nice upgrade for those that like to click.

Widow Venom for all!

Kill shot now behaves as if it was glyphed.  Mostly.
